You guys!! I skipped last week meal plan…. And guess what? It’s sucked…. I didn’t have my meals together and we ate out twice because of it.  Not happening this week.  I have yummy, easy and family favorites planned with little tweaks here and there so I can enjoy too.

I am still kicking along with my Trim Healthy mama lifestyle diet and feeling lighter and so good each day making good healthy decisions for myself and my family.  They see the new ingredients I am using and I love being a healthy example to them that eating healthy isn’t boring or gross.  Most of the meals on my plan this week are THM friendly and/or easy to convert in a healthier way.  I do still cook real food and real meals my family will eat, with just a few tweaks here and there (slow burning carbs and healthier sugars).  And I am down about 23lbs which feels so great and encouragement to keep going.

Here’s what caught my eye this week and what I’m reading:

  •  I’ve been listening to Wildflower by Drew Barrymore, I have loved her for so very long and learning about her crazy, fabulous life was such a treat, I feel like I could be her best friend and still adore her so much.  I love listening on Audible and if you sign up you get 2 free books!
  • Fabfitfun Fall boxes are shipping and I just got mine!!!, have you snagged yours yet?  Get it now and get $5 off your first box.  So many amazing things in the box this fall, including a umbrella, how did they know I always need an umbrella??
  • Are you watching anything on Netflix, I am totally digging Shameless, and To all the boys I have loved before.

Back to our school schedule and busy evenings and for my photography business it’s busy season for sure.  4h meetings, and scouts, fundraisers are starting back too, as well as daily homework and meals to plan out that everyone will enjoy (isn’t’ this always a struggle?)  But college football is back and we’ve been enjoying the Saturday evening games with wings, dove breasts and more good eats.  What are your favorite football watch meals?

School started for the bigs this past week and we are quickly back into the school routine.  My mother in law is staying with us for the next few weeks while she heals from surgery and we will hopefully adjust just fine to her needs and diet.  It actually should pair just fine with my Trim Healthy mama lifestyle diet.  I am still trucking along with the diet and feeling lighter and so good each day making good healthy decisions for myself and my family.

I am dreaming of fall, so over the heat, I need some brisk cool mornings, pumpkin flavored everything and that little bit of excitement the fall brings? Is it just me? Do you feel it too?

I’ll never forget as a child I  had horses and for a week or two at the beginning of fall, the horses would have a excitement through them, they would run, buck, kick and just let loose, it always seemed to correlate with the cool breeze in the air.  THAT, that is the feeling I am wanting so badly….

School starts this week! I think we are ready the bigs aren’t but at least we have all the supplies, clothes, shoes, socks, etc ready.  And so it begins…..  Recently I’ve come across the Trim Healthy Mama lifestyle of eating, and it makes so much sense! I’ve been doing the eating plan (not perfectly) for about 3 weeks and I am down about 10lbs (many more to go) but it’s doable. Basically I have cut sugar and processed carbs out of my diet and replaced them with healthy stevia based sweeteners with low glycemic index and healthy slow burning carbs and fats too.  Not much is “off” plan or can’t be tweaked to be eaten at home or in a restaurant even.  I still need food and flexibility in my life.  I can’t wait to share more with you guys on this.  It’s been a real eye opener for me.  I have listed below some THM mama recipe and don’t they look dang good??

Here’s what caught my eye this week and what I’m reading.

I started the cleanse today, eek first time in almost 2 years or longer…. I am super excited to do the cleanse and get back on track with my eating and hopefully weight loss. This go round I tried the peaches and cream fiber drink (or unflavored) and I am happy to say it tastes much better than the citrus. Much better.

I’ve had such great success doing the cleanse in the past I fully believe I will have great success too, but a big part of the success or failure of the cleanse is being prepared. If you get over hungry or tired or stressed out, it’s so easy to grab something quick and unhealthy. So I am going into this fully prepared armed with some super yummy recipes.

With the cleanse you are to avoid sugar, fatty foods and meats, dairy, limited whole wheat breads, and no alcohol.

I tend to limit my bread intake to 1 whole grain serving a day, ie: 1 piece or toast or tortilla.  I also personally limit 1 banana a day, and 1-2 servings of fruit a day.  I like to think of it like this, lots of veggies, lean meats and whole grains like brown rice, quinoa.  Filling whole foods, nothing processed at all.  I also drink coffee in the mornings with unsweetened almond milk or black and lots of water.  For snacks, I will grab a handful of natural nuts, like almonds or cashews, or an apple with 1 tablespoon of peanut butter.  There is no starving on this cleanse, just eating really well and clean.

Here are some of the recipes that I love while on the cleanse and not on the cleanse too, they are so yummy.

Here’s what caught my eye this week and what I’m reading.

Crock-pot Jambalaya with brown rice and fresh okra from the garden.

Thai Turkey Tacos as lettuce wraps, no tortilla so yummy.
