I am still trucking along with my weight loss journey.   I had stalled out a bit this summer and only lost about 1-2 lbs all summer, ugh.  I was still eating fairly well (but not the best) and also exercising with various workouts, shredding, yoga and running mostly.

I was completely bummed about my no progress.  Mostly!  I tried several fad diets, the 7 day diet, the Dr. Oz cleanse.  But each time I would be so hungry by day two or three I would quit and gorge myself on something, anything, because I was miserably hungry.

Then about 3 weeks ago I had been hearing all about the Eat More to Weigh Less phenomenon.  The basic concept is to figure out your daily nutritional needs, based on your size, and activity level.  And then eat enough calories for your basic total daily needs – 20% for weight loss, this number for me equals about 1700 calories.  500 more than I was already eating daily!!  Now these are healthy calories, not filled with junk foods, alcohol or sodas.  But healthy, vegetables, fruits, healthy fats, whole grains and leans meats.

You see my menu plans, I am not starving myself!  Quite the opposite.

Also every 3 months I do the Advocare 10 day cleanse.  It’s a great way to get back to eating healthy, feeling energized and just all around really well.  Since the cleanse is restrictive on some of my favorite food items (dairy and sugar)  I wasn’t sure if I would be able to maintain my new 1700 calorie diet.  I love my cheese sticks and yogurt!

But I am happy to report that not only did I make that cleanse look like a cake walk, I also lost 4lbs in 10 days!!!  Seriously this time around the cleanse was so very easy, amazingly easy, almost second nature.  I felt so good too!  I didn’t want to quit!

These photos aren’t super dramatic as they are only -5lbs in difference.

I wanted to post an update to help keep myself accountable as well.  Total weight loss to date is 30lbs!!

The photos on the left were from May, and the ones are the right are from yesterday.

I like this photo the best.  Because though I might not really see the weight loss in the pictures I can see my muscles!!  Still have a long way to go, but I am celebrating the little things!

In that first pic, your butt definitely looks higher! Does that make sense? You know what I mean. It looks firmer and higher. Okay, that just makes me sound like a pervert.

You look amazing and I can totally see your muscles in that last pic!! Keep up the great work!!!

Now that you’ve been eating 1700 calories a day, could you ever imagine going back to eating only 1200??? I don’t think I ever could!

  5. This is awesome! GOOD FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!! I have been keeping a food journal & exercising everyday- not seeing a hugs change. I was just told by a friend that every couple months she does the medi-fast diet & she literally lost 30 lbs in roughly 30-40 days. I have not looked into the details yet- but I have heard good things about what you are doing. I may have to do it. Like you- it’s many more calories than I usually consume but seeing your results- it’s worth a try.
