I was dreading the transition from cribs to big boy beds, but I finally put if off long enough, I mean they will be 3 in November.

It’s just they slept so well in their cribs, I feared they would never sleep again.

But luckily I was wrong.

We set up two twin beds straight on the floor, pushed in the corner, for another fear of mine, if they rolled off on to the floor, so far they haven’t.

*I still need to find bed skirts for them*

But they love the new beds.

The first night lots of pretend sleeping was happening.

Little H sleeping with daddy, see the little eye peeking open?

Little W, not so much pretend sleeping.

One things for sure, lots and lots of wrestling matches happen on these new beds.

It took a few hours the first night for them to settle down and sleep, but ever since they’ve slept like babies in their big boy beds.  Thank goodness.

  1. It’s a bittersweet moment moving from cribs to big boy beds, isn’t it? Looks like they’re enjoying them, and I bet you’re relieved they’re sleeping well in them! 😉

  2. If the front life rail on my daughter crib hadn’t broken, she would still be sleeping in her crib. And, she turned 3 in July. She slept so well in it and my husband and I were just of the mindset that we were not going to rush her into a big girl bed. Albeit – it did and two weeks ago, we put her in a toddler bid.
It’s these sorts of milestones that are so very bittersweet. You love that they are growing up but at the same time you are sad that they are not longer “babies”.

  3. I so wanna move the boys into a big boy bed because like you said they gonna be 3 in November (nuts, isn´t it?!?!) but I am afraid they´ll wake up in the middle of night get out of bed and tear the house apart 😉

    Excuses, excuses 🙂

So I´ve started to look around for beds. I really like these beds

Please dont mind its in german 😉

But Jason fears they could fall and that would suck he says 😉 I wish I could just convert our cribs into daybeds but you cant. bummer.

So I am searching and searching and searching 😉 Maybe I am lucky before they actually turn 3 *hehe*

  4. They look like they love their new beds! I’m nervous about putting my son in one too. He’ll probably be in his crib until he gets too big for it!

  5. I just wanted to stop by and say hi. Britni emailed us your blog and said that you want to go on the twin trip next year! I hope you get to go, it will be nice to have someone else with a boy (Shelley and I were way out numbered!) 🙂 That is awesome that your boys made it so long in their cribs. I just switched my kids over a couple of months ago. It took a while to get nap time figured out!
