Last weekend we went for a trip out to see Poppy (My Dad) he was busy plowing his land preparing to plant rice in a few weeks.  We brought him lunch and of course the boys wanted to ride the tractor.

Poppy put them inside the tractor and immediately Little H got a scared look on his face.  Little W was busy being happy as can be touching and pushing every single button his can find.

Then Lalo shut the tractor door, and he wasn’t very happy.  Little W was confused at how Little H could be so un-happy in his most favorite place in the world, a tractor.

But Poppy came to the rescue and he realized he was going for a ride.

and all was good in his world again.

They rode with poppy and loved every second of it.

While they were riding, I decided to take a few pictures of my dad and grandpa’s piles o’ junk they have laying around.  And I really like how the pictures turned out, I guess I am weird but I think they look pretty cool.  I was playing around in Photoshop to make them look a little more rustic.

He’s an ole ford truck circa 1968 or so.

Some tires in the front seat.

in the back of the truck was a wild hog skull from a boar my dad killed years ago.

There was also this old Case 930 1968, Dad says its been sitting there for a very long time.

After the ride the boys took a picture in the tire of the tractor. They were too busy to pose for me.

Thanks Poppy for the ride, they are still talking about riding in the tractor with Poppy.

You made two little boys day.

So tell me do you like taking pictures of old run down trucks and tractors? Please tell me it’s not just me.

  1. This post makes me happy. The first tractor I learned to drive was remarkably similar to that Case (a bit newer, but still)!

  2. That old truck was your great-grandfather’s, PoPo. I can still picture PoPo driving it and he always wore leather work gloves when he drove. Your grandpa, PopPo, can’t part with it. So it sits by the side of the field overseeing their farming and serving as a reminder to PopPo that his dad is still looking over him.

  3. I like taking any photo, You never know how it can be used, lol. camera always in hand, folk watch out, auntie got a camera! Love the kids and Poppy, Look like a lot of fun on the farm.

  4. Aw, so sweet! We recently moved to Connecticut from Indiana and this post makes me miss all the farmland and the tractors and what-not. Feeling misty here… *sniff*

Anywho, I’m a horrible photographer and am thus not tempted to take pictures of much beyond my own three children, but I certainly enjoyed all your shots! 🙂

  5. Absolutely adorable pics of the boys!! I really like the photos of “old stuff” too.. I like seeing what other people see in the “ordinary”. Happy WW!

  6. I think your tractor photos are beautiful. But I can’t say I have ever taken a photo of a tractor before.

Your boys are so darn cute and it looks like they had a lot of fun with their grandpa. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

  7. Oh my goodness! Those are the best pictures! We called my grandfather Poppy and I so wanted my children to call my Dad “Poppy” but he couldn’t handle it (he died several years ago) so they call him Pappy. Anyway! Great memories for the boys and they are SO CUTE!!!

  8. great pictures! I love how the little guys faces reflected their joy and angst!!

And nice work with the vintage pictures… very cool!

  9. Look how happy all those boys are (the little ones and the big one)! They are just so sweet.

Love the pictures. Great job editing them!

  10. Those are beautiful shots! I love taking pictures of old things, too. You’re not alone. 🙂 I love the one of the boys in the tire- absolutely priceless.
Thanks for linking up to my carnival this week!

  11. I love the transition from SCREAMING with fear to sitting on grandpa’s lap and grinning. The healing power of grandparents…I don’t understand it, but I sure am thankful for it.
