Don’t you hate it when you buy a watermelon only to get it home and find out it’s old?
I do, but my chickens don’t!!

After all, I do feel the need to treat my lovelies when they give me such beautiful eggs, day in and day out.
Copper supervising, if you look closely you can see all the juice slurping and splashing around.
And after a full belly, a bask in the sun is a necessity.

I LOVE IT!!! We pretty much do the same thing when we buy an old watermelon that’s not even good to make an Agua Fresca, we give it to my Hubby’s aunt, who in turn feeds it to her chickens. 🙂
I really do hate it when I get a bad watermelon, but if I had your brood I might look forward to it. What fun!
