Over my entire school career  (excluding college) when given a writing assignment I would scribble it out in less than 10 minutes, once I knew what I was going to write I had no problem but to write it out fast and I mean I can write fast.  I wanted to get it over with as soon as possible and I never ever re-read what I wrote, just turned it in as be.  No wonder I always got about a solid C+.

Now at the age of 26 (27 on the 22nd) I still have this problem with my blog the only “writing” I really do.  I like to spit it out fast and then I hate proof reading, so then later I am reading my posts and I see mi-spelling words in the wrong place, etc.  But I never see these on other people’s post, is it just me?  Am I that lazy.  Oh and though I hate to do it, I hate that I hate to do it.  It really perturbs me.  I wish I was and eloquent writer, or one that puts lots of thought and a witty sense of humor in their writing, but its not natural for me. My best friend in grade school was an awesome writer, when I read her book report or even letters she wrote me she was great, and I lacked so much, it came naturally for her.   Seriously I am trying.  I am typing this with a cut pinkie finger? Do you know how many A’s are in this post, all typed with the pinkie.  I cut it last night my my scissors while picky purple hull peas, and when I say cut I mean cut,  I am re thinking why I didn’t go to the emergency room to get stitches.  Not too sure if this is going to heal.  But I digress. I try writing, thinking of something clever, interesting, fun, to write about and this is what I get, a post about my lack of writing skills.  I hope you can all forgive me and realize I am trying.

I would like to share a picture of the bounty DT and I picked from the garden last night.  I am so proud of him for all his hard work.

*shameless ploy to show off the garden produce*

ps: I swear I did proof read this post, but no promises there aren’t any errors and/or too many commas.

  1. That is great! You are so lucky to be able to grow so much produce! Hope the sniffles go away soon!

  2. Well well…I learned something today. You and I share the same birthday!! I will be 26 on the 22nd! 🙂 We need like a mass blog birthday party or something, however you coordinate such things…

  3. 1) You’re writing is just fine.
    2) Even if it weren’t, it’s a BLOG for Pete’s sake. Until they hand out Pulitzer’s for blog writing a mistake or two is not big deal.
    3) Clearly you are producing way more important things. Holy smokes that’s a lot of produce!

  4. You’re writing is just fine. I never notice anything wrong. I am so jealous of your garden. If I produce half of that I will be happy.

  5. I have an English degree and I still make mistakes. Gosh, we are only human! I would love to see the person’s blog who made that comment. It’s probably some old English teacher. They are always cranky about silly little spelling and grammar mistakes.

Man, I could take some of those veggies off your hands if you want 🙂 If DT has to come out to SA, please send some veggies with him!!

  6. Wow! That’s a lot of veggies!!! Good for you!!! I’m impressed!!! Blogging is just supposed to be fun and about you! Half of what I write is drivel but it all started out for just me anyway because I needed an outlet of some sort. Don’t worry about it! Anyway, you had me laughing about the pinkies and the A’s. I never realized it either! But I did realize how many letters I use for my middle finger when I cut it last week while cutting fruit! I had this big ol’ bandaid and I kept hitting two letters everytime I typed because the bandaid was too big. Haha! Anyway, great job on the garden!! Seriously I’m still impressed!

  7. Sorry about your finger! Eek! I hope you don’t need stitches.

And WOW – good job on the “harvest!”

  8. Did you put butterfly strips on that cut? I can’t believe all those potatoes and your corn is ready! I agree with Lalo, what time is supper? You must have got your lack of writing from me. Who knows where Kay got her ability, must be from BB or Sannie. And don’t let her comment fool you. She has be correcting BB and me since she was in Jr. High. But glad to see that she admitted that she makes mistakes. Think I’ll frame that one! LOL Sorry we are going to miss the big weekend at the bay. We are giving Mal a graduation party at our house. Keep those sweet boys covered in suntan lotion. I’m sure you will get your lecture from Pop, if you haven’t gotten it already.
