Ripped in 30 Level 2, oh boy. I really liked this level, it has really different, albeit hard, fun moves in it.  I started off a little slow, I didn’t want to be too sore, and I am glad I didn’t because my abs were sore.  First time for that, it has some awesome ab moves in this level.  Each day I would push myself harder and farther.  The last day I went full out and man oh man.  Those crow push-ups (just google them if you don’t know what they are) about killed me, I was screaming them.  I felt like I was on biggest loser with Jillian yelling “you can do it.”  I pushed myself to do them full out the whole time.  A few expletives may or may not have been used.  It’s hard is putting it lightly.

I also took my 2 month weight loss pictures.  I am posting these pictures to keep myself motivated and hopefully to motivate some of you.  Now, there aren’t huge changes from month 2 to month 3, but I did lose 6 more lbs.  Which in 2 months equals a total of 18 lbs.  I completed the 30 day shred and am now doing the ripped in 30 during this 2 months, as well as run 1-2 times per week and that is it for working out.

I really credit this weight loss mostly to diet.  I’ve changed what I was eating significantly.  Which in my opinion is much harder than working out for only 25 minutes a day.  I log everything I put into my mouth into myfitnesspal.com database.  I keep a close eye on calories, sodium, and sugar.   It amazes me how much my diet before was loaded with fat, sugar, and salt.

It has also helped me with portion control and only eating when I am hungry.  Not bored, stressed, or mindless eating.  I try to only eat whole grains, lean meats, fruits, and veggies at every meal.  A common lunch for me is a whole wheat tortilla, filled with leftovers (generally chicken), fresh tomatoes, avocado slices, and topped full with mixed salad greens.  I eat the dinner meals from my Menu plans.  And truthfully I am not hungry much.  Somedays I go to bed thinking I could eat a little more, but don’t.  This is generally where before I would have had a bowl of ice icream.  Now If I must have something I make banana ice cream.

I feel so much better, those 18 lbs were really holding me down.  I now have much more energy, feel better in my clothes, and enjoy being more active.  Sorry the quality of my pictures aren’t better, I need practice at mirror self portraits.

  2. You may have mentioned this in another post but what are your specific goals? Do you have a weight that you’re shooting for, measurements or anything? You look GREAT! I really like the progress pics. It is inspiring!

  3. You are doing great! I just found your blog and I’m so glad I did! I will be a newlywed this October and I’m working toward a fitter body in the meantime. Thanks for sharing with us 🙂

  4. I just wanted to say you’ve inspired me to buy these DVDs and get my butt in gear. Your looking great. It’s nice to see real results….sometimes I wonder about these others I see. Anyway, I wanted to see how many days you work out with the Shred video? I’m thinking about taking Sundays off but it doesn’t really say anywhere. What pounds weights did you start out with? I’m starting out with 2 but I have 5 and I’m thinking about getting a 3lb. Thanks for the inspiration.

  5. Sandra, so happy I can motivate you to do the shred videos. JM recommend you do the each level for 10 days. So I broke them up to 2 weeks at 5 days a piece giving myself 2 day weekend breaks. So in total it took 6 weeks to complete. Also I used 3 lb and 5 lb weights, I say use your 2 lbs no reason to buy more unless you really want to. Good luck shredding, and keep me updated.

  6. You look great Jenna! I am trying to exercise more. I was trying to lose the last 10 pounds of baby weight from Theresa, then my brother’s wedding was called off, so I lost my motivation. But, we are getting a dog, and I’m going to make myself take the dog for a walk every night. He will need exercise too. 🙂

  7. That’s awesome! I SO need to get my butt in gear….I haven’t worked out in almost a month! If I could just keep everyone WELL it would help. You can really see results in these pics…congrats!
