A couple of random thoughts on this Thursday
- Yesterday morning I awoke and found our sweet 13 year old Precious had passed away in her sleep. Truth be told, when we first brought her to our home, over 5 years ago, the vet said she wouldn’t live another 6 months, and every summer I thought it was her last. Precious was absolutely the sweetest dog, she loved the boys, let them ride her, jump on her, push her around, pull her fur, she loved it all. I am glad she went quickly, with no pain or suffering. I am going to miss the big girl. Here are a few posts I have written about her over the years, here and here.
- Our sweet little cousins came to play last week, and we were so happy to see them. Baby R is 8 months and Sissy R just turned 3.
- I bathed a chicken in my sink for the first time, well actually not bathed, but let her soak in warm water. Poor thing is egg bound (meaning eggs keep getting stuck in her). She loved it.
- We’ve been going to a fun water park almost weekly since they opened for the summer. We have such a blast every time.
- The boys are going to start swimming lessons in 2 weeks. I am so excited and so are they.
- I haven’t been taking pictures as much lately, and I don’t like it….. I need to get on that, ha ha.
- I hired a babysitter for the first time ever last night. Yes, the boys are 3 1/2 and I realized just how blessed I am that my Mom, Grandma, aunts, have all babysat the boys for free.
- Facebook was so exciting yesterday, 3 babies were born by 3 expectant Momma’s (all friends of mine), what a very special day!
- My Mom’s birthday is tomorrow and I am making her Red Velvet Cupcakes with the best mascarpone icing ever!!!

Oh, I’m so sorry about your dog Precious. That’s so hard. I hope the boys are okay.

It must be hard to offer well-wishes for your friends who just had babies. You are a great and loving friend. Enjoy your summer! The water park looks like so much fun!!!

@Mindee@ourfrontdoor, I didn’t hide it from the boys, I wanted them to be very aware of what happened to her, she was so peaceful looking so we all got to say our goodbyes.
Yes the egg bound situation is very serious, I hope I can find a solution or I will lose her.
@Candi, I do admit to have a pang of sadness when I found out someone is pregnant on or near my would have been due date. But these girls were pregnant long before all that, and it’s there first babies so I can’t help but wish them every happiness.
The water park is so much fun, I am so happy we are able to go as often as we have.
Sorry about the loss of your dog. It is always hard when a fur baby goes to heaven.

Sorry for the loss of your sweet pet! We live fairly close to the water park you go to. We tried to go last summer but it was too packed!! When is the best time to go?
