I was so happy that I was able to go to the Pioneer Woman book signing in Houston this weekend.  What a super fun experience.  I was nervous and anxiously anticipating meeting Ree.  I don’t have much experience meeting Celebs.  My only other encounter with a famous person involves nekkidness, massages, and Teri Hatcher.  Intrigued?  Well that’s a story for another time and place and I do plan on sharing it soon. Any who.

We wake up early and arrive around 11am to get our signing tickets.  Score, were color sky blue,(not knowing that meant they’ve already been through the whole stack of normal colors)  So then we left went to eat lunch with my Aunt then arrived back at 1 pm for the presentation and Q&A.  Ree was gorgeous, funny and completely like how she writes on her blog, awesome!

This is also when I realized there were probably 800 people there!!

After the Q&A, Ree starting signing and signing and signing, poor gal.  I know that must be tough on her, but she looks like she is having a great time!

So while we are waiting Mom and I walk around to check out this super neat Venue Georgia’s Market.  Its a farmer’s market with fresh teas, coffee’s and tons of spices.  It is a really neat place.  And best of all it serves food and has awesome seating.  So as I am walking around, I am taking random pictures of the place and I take this picture.  See the gal in the left of the picture in the blue shirt?  Well she noticed me taking pictures and asked if this was going to be on the Internets one day.  I gently assured her if possible could.

Turns out this is Denise from Kopecki Korner.  We stuck up a blogging conversation and I ended up sitting with them the rest of the wait, about 5 hours.  Denise is a newlywed and her hubby works at Blue Bell Ice Cream, how cool is that.  She was quite hilarious and kept me laughing the whole wait.

At the other end of the table was this sweet heart Julie from Elisha Rose News,  she was crocheting a beautiful scarf and we shared and laughed about our silly back yard chickens.  She has two and admits they a her lap babies.

Julie also was the first up to get her book signed and I had to get a picture!! Isn’t she beautiful?

Finally sky blue was called, as we get closer and closer, I notice this huge pile of gifts people had brought Ree!

If I say so myself Ree has the best fans.  See the pink box?  That was cookies from Bridget at Bake at 350

So we finally made it up to Ree and I kept thinking what am I going to say??????

Turns out I just said, “Hi” I love your blog,”  Oh and I just made your cinnamon rolls, and I have several pans in the freezer”, she was so sweet about it, I am sure she heard about 100 different versions of the same thing.

Look how great she looks after 5+ hours of book signing!!

*(my mom, me and Ree)

So I’ve got my signing copy and met some great people.  What more could I ask for?
