This Christmas the boys are 3 and very interested in helping decorate their own tree.  I simply set out their ornaments and they started decorating.

They took the job very seriously and loved hanging the ornaments, wherever they would stay.

Which resulted in some unique decorating tricks.

While they were decorating their tree I was busy with mine.  I have a new tree this year.  It’s a Martha Stewart brand tree with pine-cones and flocked white and silver tips and I just love it.  It is the same height as my last tree but narrower and fits much better in our small space.

It’s no secret how much I just love ornaments and get so much joy finding cute unique ones each year, and pulling out some of my old favorites.

This pig and sheep I purchased our first Christmas together.  How cute are those eyes and lashes and big bows?

Oh course, DT is the pig and I am the sheep.

This year I found some cute Chicken ornaments.  But of course!!!  Gotta love TSC!

and yes they do make chicken ornaments, I know what you’re thinking!

Here’s my final product, though it seems that almost everyday I am switching something around and re-arranging.  Finding more ornaments I had forgotten about and not properly put in their place.

The boys tree all completed.

Some of their favorite ornaments are the John Deere lunch box.

and cookie monster of course!

Also, I’ve noticed that the boys like to take some ornaments off of my tree and put on their own, see the ornament behind Cookie.

The boys were so excited looking at their tree and so proud of doing such a great job.

We don’t have the Christmas card tree up yet this year, but I will be putting it up very soon.

If you’d like you can see our tree from the past 2 years here and here.

Is your tree up yet?  What are your favorite kinds of ornaments?
