Eggs Eggs Eggs! This week’s menu is inspired by the 3 dozen eggs we have in the fridge.  Our chickens are laying 4-5 each day and we almost can’t keep up.  Scrambled or fried eggs in the mornings are getting a bit routine, so I am mixing it up a bit and adding in some new eggy recipes.

Last week we had:

Cherry Mini Cakes

Spaghetti Puttanesca

Pork Chops with Turnips Gratin (picture and recipe courtesy of Pioneer Woman)

Hearty Cabbage Soup

This week we have planned:

Breakfasts:

Fresh fruit and oatmeal

Dinners:

Steaks with sweet potatoes, and Hearts of palm salad (recipe to come)

Pork chops with asparagus and turnip greens

Sticky Chicken

Chicken Corn Chowder

Desserts,  Snacks and Drinks:

  1. How did you like the turnips? What do they taste like? I’ve never had them and I’m wary. 🙂

You know, you could have your friends pay a buck or two for some eggs… offset the cost of chickens and reduce the number of eggs in your fridge!

  2. I love reading your menu for the week…I’ve gotten some great ideas from this! And I don’t have to tell you how much I love the sticky chicken!!
