Meet the Newlyweds Tabitha and CPA (his blog land name).  I have been following Tabitha’s blog now for several months and I am so impressed at her amazing blogging talents on From Single to Married she writes about everything from travel to pregnancy.  She also started a blog focusing solely on motherhood called Experiencing Motherhood where women guest post their experiences from motherhood and all that contains; I even had a guest post here.   I am happy to say lets Meet the Newlyweds Tabitha and CPA.

How did you meet?

We worked together actually. We were just friends for a while and then I left the office and we stayed in touch.

When did you know he was the one?

I remember several months before we got engaged thinking that I could actually marry this guy and that I wanted to marry him.  That was a unique feeling for me!  We got engaged a short time later and then married four months after that.

What is one of your favorite things to do together?

Oh… so many!  We love to travel and visit new places.  We also love our evenings at home watching one of our favorite shows and cuddling on the couch.

What is something new you learned about your spouse after you were married?

That he had thousands of books.  Okay, maybe not thousands, but literally hundreds of books.  I had no idea he had that many!  We have bookshelves lining most of the walls in our basement just for his books!  Oh – and I didn’t realize that he doesn’t like to play games.  As in card games and board games.  He always humored me before we were married but finally confessed one day not too long ago.  I don’t make him play games anymore. J

What do you do to stay connected during everyday stresses of life?

We talk on the phone several times a day – just little check in phone calls.  And we send text messages too.

What is your best piece of marriage advice?

It’s all about compromise.  By the time I got married, I was pretty set in my ways.  I sometimes have to remind myself that it’s not all about me now, there’s someone else to consider.  Just because I want to do something doesn’t mean he wants to do something and vice versa.  It’s tough sometimes giving up something you want but it’s better in the long run because then we’re both happy.

What is your favorite quirk about your husband?

He’s always quoting movies. I’ve been around him long enough that now I’m starting to recognize the references, but at first I thought, “Why on earth is he saying that?”  Until I realized he was just quoting a movie…

What is something special you do just for your husband?

Every Sunday evening I give him an hour long back rub and/or foot rub.

Tell us something about yourself.

I waited a long time to get married – I was thirty-six.  We’ve been married for a year and a half and I love it!  Now we’re trying to get pregnant and I love that too.  So excited to start a family!

  1. I don’t know what my husband would do if I started giving him hour-long massages once a week. I think he’d start to think that he died and went to heaven. lol.

  2. Hi Mindee – so good to see you over here! 🙂

And Susie – you’re sweet for saying that.

Jenny – I have to admit that the CPA rubs my feet everynight. Yes, you read that right, every night. Even if it’s only for a few minutes he does it. So even though the hour long massage sounds good, it’s just starting to make up for the massages he gives my feet during the week. How sweet is that? That’s just one of the reasons I waited until 36 to get married – it took a long time to find him! Ha!!

  3. Jenny, I’m with you – I think my husband would pass out from shock if I started giving him weekly hour-long massages! Tabitha, you guys are so sweet to each other – such an inspiration. 🙂

  4. Well done, girls! Finally, I can see the CPA.

I’ve never met a man who didn’t speak in movie quotes. I’m certain my fiance could go 24 hours communicating in only Spielberg film lines.
