Come on in and let’s Meet Cole and Aaron a very sweet couple from Georgia.  Cole has been blogging since August of 2008 all in which she write about her hubby Aaron, family, friends and her adorable M & M twins that she nanny’s for.   She also has lots of recipes and cooking tips.  And one of my favorite posts is about her grandmothers ring.  Please be sure to check out her blog.

How did you meet? We met on the first day of my freshman year in high school, his senior year.  I was 13, he was 17.  We happened to have the same first period: a parenting class.  I noticed him sitting in the back of the class as I walked in the room.  We locked eyes and never looked back…

When did you know he was the one? I don’t remember a specific time or moment when I knew he was “The One.”  Honestly, I’m a “love the one you’re with” kind of girl.  But, the first time I laid eyes on him I knew that he was going to be an important part of my life and that I wanted to know who he was.  Because we were so young, we kind of grew into each other.  We were friends for awhile, which naturally progressed into more.  After 8 happy years together, we decided that we were gonna ride it until the wheels fall off and started planning a wedding.

What is one of your favorite things to do together? Aaron and I love to be outside.  Sitting on the porch watching the sun go down, reading under a tree in the park, swimming, grilling, finding stars through the telescope, or hiking in the woods…that’s where we’re happiest.  Dreaming and planning out the future…

What is something new you learned about your spouse after you were married? That he likes Lemon Meringue Pie.  I HATE meringue.LOL

What do you do to stay connected during everyday stresses of life? Aaron and I are in it for the long haul.  We’re young and working hard while we can.  Even though we live together and at least see each other in passing between jobs, we don’t always get around to making a real connection every day.  But, we know that it won’t last forever- and just count down the days until our next day off together.  One of our favorite sayings is, “I love you…see you in July.”

What is your best piece of marriage advice? I picked #9 off of my 10 Things I’ve Learned About Marriage blog:  Respect is WAY more important than feeling like you’re “in love.” When life gets busy and neither of us have time or energy to be a team- we fall back on what we know best…being best friends. We’re never too busy to give each other kind words. Even if we’re not able to take care of one another, at least we can be encouraging.

What is your favorite quirk about your husband? Aaron takes music from popular songs on the radio and changes the words to describe his day. LOL  Makes me laugh every time.

What is something special you do just for your husband? I try to make a big deal out of the small stuff.  He’s pretty humble, so I brag about him to my friends when he can hear it.  “Aaron had dinner ready and the kitchen clean by the time I got home!” LOL  Makes him blush…

Tell us something about yourself. I wouldn’t be me without my husband.  We’ve been together for so long.  I consider myself a lucky girl knowing that I have no idea where (or who) I’d be without him.  I feel invincible knowing that he’ll be in my corner for the rest of our lives.

Hope you join us for next weeks rendition of Meet the Newlyweds.  If you interested in being a featured couple or know of a newlywed blogging couple, please leave me a comment.

  1. I always enjoy reading your newlyweds highlight each week 🙂 It is sometimes neat to see answers similar to me (except I’m like Cole’s husband, and I’m the one who makes up new words to songs hehe). But it always makes me think “what would I say to that question?”

  2. They sound like an amazing couple who knows how to have fun together!! I totally agree that respect is one of the biggest things to have in a marriage…without that, it would be super hard to maintain a good relationship!

PS – On a side note, I just couldn’t help myself….yesterday, the kids and I went outside to water our garden and JENNA we have tons of green bean sprouts, lettuce sprouts, cucumber and watermelon!!!! The tomatoes didn’t fare so well so I’ll have to pick up some plants this wkend and forgo the seeds. But we were all so excited that me and the kids were literally dancing in the backyard!!! My neighbor must think I’m nuts!!

I’m gonna post pics on my blog soon!

  3. Jill- I am so glad you enjoy them. I am the same way I always make up words to popular songs and sing them, especially to my boys.

    Susie-they really are!

Helene-yes Respect, its so important. Oh and I am so glad your garden sprouts are doing so well. I am super excited for you. I know my neighbors think I’m nuts taking pictures of my garden all the time, lol!!

  4. Oh how fun! It’s so wonderful to read about lovely, committed couples embarking on the journey of marriage together. Makes my heart happy. 🙂 Thanks for doing this series!

  5. I can totally relate to the “I love you…see you in July”. You definitely don’t take time together for granted when you don’t get to spend a lot of time together.

  6. Jessie Leigh- Thanks I love reading about them as well. I think each couple has a lesson to teach.

Jenny- Like Cole said it won’t be like that for long but it is so special even if its just a few moments together.

    Sherri- I agree!

Tabitha-I know I love how she remade her grandmothers ring, I just think that is so special.

  7. I have just found your blog and think it is great that you have couples on your blog and about what is important to them. I know that we get caught up in the day to day sometimes. I would love to on your newlyweds if that is possible.
