Our newest battle is packing lunches.  We both agree to save money to pack our lunch during the work week.  But DT will not pack his lunch, he makes excuses and wants me to pack them for him.  I did get him yesterday to pack his lunch, so I thought I was making some progress.  But then today I packed his lunch.  He acts like it is so hard to pack a lunch, so my argument is that I have to pack my own and his.  He argument is that he is tired, and he likes to have a “suprise” for lunch.  I swear he is a child sometimes.  So I told him well then pack my lunch so I can have a “suprise” also.  But that has yet to happen, actually I think I am too much of a control freak to let him pack my lunch, either that or I would watch him and tell him exactly what to pack..  I guess I just can’t let go, but I am very particular about my food.  So I guess I really have no equal solution.  Ha

  1. Argh. What is it with men?? LOL
My hubby always says “Oh, I can make my own lunch.” Pshaw. Right. If I don’t pack his lunch, he leaves without.

I drag my tired ass out of bed at 5 am every morning to pack his lunch and make him breakfast. I can’t complain though, in all seriousness, as his hard work allows me to stay at home with the baby.

    But still. *snort*

  2. LOL Are we all the same person? My DH finally packs his own, but I got the same “I like your surprises!” crap from him for the first month or so of the new job. Until I didn’t wake up early enough a couple of mornings, and then he just started doing it on his own.

I hate the surprise thing though – he threw it at me when I was planning our VACATION earlier this year.
Me: “do we want to do this or–”
Him: “oh don’t tell me! Surprise me!”
(Read: “oh I don’t want to think of any of the planning or how it all comes together, I just want to get to the fun part!”)

    Oy… where’s MY surprise?? 😀

  3. Who packs lunches now? I guess it is even. 1 parent -1 child

Larry’s is not that expensive anyway so eating out occsasionally is not too bad.

  4. Guess what!! The tide has turned since the birth of the babies DT now packs his own lunch!! Its amazing, but I pack the boys lunches and bottles.
