Labor day!  A day  we should go out and do something fun, not work at home! Hence no labor on labor day, or at least this was/is my thinking.  We thought and pondered on where we would go what we would do, DT wanted to go to the mall, but I didn’t trust myself to not spend too much, and I didn’t want to go somewhere that 50 million other people would be.  So my Mom suggested the Zoo, I thought perfect; it’s outdoors; just far enough away, and hopefully not too many people.

So as we walk in the first exhibit was the Bengal Tiger’s look how innocently they are laying around chillin. Well the tiger on the far left decided shortly after this picture was taken to walk up to us, I thought cool I will get a close up picture, but no he jumped up literally on top of the plexy glass and roared so loud and looked like he wanted to eat DT.  IT scared the bejesus out of me and DT was stunned. Thank God for the 5 inch plexy glass or DT would have been tiger food.  The boys were right there also and didn’t even take notice to the huge Kitty trying to eat daddy.

We moved on to more docile little critter’s and feed them

We lucked out and were there during feeding time so all the animals were out eating it was so cute, check out these little fellows.

Then this old guy decided to come tell us hi, I was weary after the last incident with the tiger. But he was friendly! You can’t tell from this picture but he wasn’t just black he had a beautiful spotted pattern similar to the other panther.

The most interesting animal was the Baird’s Tapir, and look at the Ham posing for the camera!  He was the cutest weirdest looking animal.

He looked like a huge Hog, with a elephant nose and big feet.  And he was definitely a He, lets just say it was hot, and he was letting it hang all out! Ha, it almost reached his toes, it was weird, DT was proud for him! Men?!

Porcupine, tortoise, and some baboons grooming each other.

Then DT favorite the Alligator’s there were three of them and they were huge and scary and there exhibit was right next to the Baboons, which I thought was interesting considering in the wild Crocs eat Baboons!

On to my favorite Animal exhibit 3 Monkey’s! Notice the large one posing for the camera, ha ha!!

The boys favorite were the Owls.

Here’s Hootie a Hoot Owl, and Owlie a Barn Owl
