Wow its been 10 weeks since we have planted the garden and it has grown so much its amazing.  I broccoli and Cabbage heads are really getting bigger and hopefully it won’t be long before we have some to eat.  The carrots are coming along well and getting bigger I am hoping they will be ready in a couple of weeks.  But for now we have been enjoying the mustard spinach, spinach and bib lettuce.  We had some freezing temperatures this week and I don’t think it has affected any of the plants so far.   We have been eating tons of spinach, salad and mustard spinach, its been fun adding it to foods and seeing what we can create.

  1. Oh, I love gardening. I am sooo missing it this time of year. Our garden is under snow right now! I love having a nearly unending supply of fresh broccoli from the garden-and not worrying about the freshness of what I get from the store. Your broccoli looks soon to be very yummy as does everything else. I hope it keeps working out well.

  2. Oh, I LOVE your garden! I could be growing a beautiful garden too, because our weather is so nice and warm, but I was too lazy. Oh, well … there’s always next season, right? By the way, I grew up eating mustard, but I have never heard it called mustard spinach. Whatever you call it, it sure tastes great. I especially enjoy mixing it with turnip greens …. add a little vinegar and chicken bouillon … mmmmmm!

  3. We called them mustard greens. Sure hope you are bring that broccoli for Christmas lunch. If not a spinach salad.
