Life is anything but boring around here that is for sure.  Friday night while enjoying a evening at home, the boys were jumping on the furniture (the whole house doubles as a playground)  when I heard that all too familiar head knock followed with a cry.  I ran in to see Little H with a big gash and blood pouring out.  I cleaned it and got ice on it and made the decision it was emergency room time.  Our very first emergency room visit (and last I hope).

He was lucky and didn’t need a stitch,  instead they used skin stitch which is basically glue.  Purple glue.  Weird if I created the glue I think I would have made it clear, but that’s just me.

He was so good at the emergency room and didn’t cry at all, while they cleaned and pressed on it.  My little sweetie.

The little sweetie also picked me the biggest rose off of our rose bush and told me “I was the prettiest Mom in the world.”  He’s mine forever I’m never letting that sweetheart go.

I put it in a jelly jar with some green food coloring last night and the petals are already turning green on the edges.

Other exciting news is we got this little fluff ball puppy this past weekend.  She’s a part chihuahua/shihtzu mix.

Our own little wicked wild chi wow wow.   Little Jilly Boo or Juju Bee, or Jezebel.  We are still deciding.  Recognize those names?  If you haven’t heard of Skippyjon Jones Books you have to get them, they are super cute story of a little Siamese boy kitty who thinks he is a chihuahua.

Little Jilly Boo has quite the sweet personality, a little shy at first but then warms up to you really quick.

She’s found a fur-ever home with us.

  1. Oh sweet irony, right as I read the first paragraph I heard WHONK “MOOOOOMMMMYYYYY” luckily it wasn’t as bad of a fall as your little man and it was nothing some nursing and snuggles couldn’t cure for my toddler. Hope he heals quickly!!

  2. Poor little guy! I am a Skippy Jon Jones lover! I especially love getting the books with the CD because the author does a brilliant job reading them! I actually got to see her speak in person a couple of years ago at a reading conference! It was awesome!

  3. Glad your little guy is OK. I’ve been fortunate to never have to visit an emergency room with either of my kids. Skippy Jon Jones is one of our family favorites! My 19 yo daughter can recite the first book word for word. We were introduced to them by the author herself who came to visit my daughter’s school many years ago. She was FANTASTIC – incredibly engaging with the children. She is somewhat local to our area and I’ve always wanted to find her house and drive past it. She told us they have a real, life-size Viking ship in their yard. That’s how cool she is. : )
