The boys just love their new little pet chicks and at every opportunity they want to ever so gently pet them.

These 2 little Black Australorps are their newest delight.

They named them Blue and Pumpkin.  (Which happens to be some of the boys favorite words)

Little H doesn’t mind them sitting on his lap, but he doesn’t really want to touch them either, just like to observe them at a comfortable distance.

Little W on the other hand touches them a little too much, as in flings them grabs them by the neck that sort of thing.

And for whatever reason they decided to lay down with the chicks on them.

Little W was fine with this.

Little H didn’t like it so much, it made him a little nervous.

But I sure am glad they are enjoying the chicks as much as I am.

These two bring the chick total to 8.  DT thinks I have gone Cuckoo.  Or should that be cluck cluck….

  1. I am so impressed at how gentle they seem with those cute little balls of fluff. I’m pretty sure my toddler would do more than just “touch too much”. So cute!

  2. Oh my goodness! Those chicks are just adorable! Don’t let me husband see this post, he’s already planning on getting the kids chicks and ducks for Easter and we have PLENTY of animals at this zoo!

    Your boys are precious!

  3. Really cute! We saw baby chicks hatching at the Rodeo last Saturday, but of course they were in incubators and the kids couldn’t hold ’em.

  4. Sooooo sweet! I would love to raise chickens at some point. For now, I’ll be living vicariously through one of our friends, and letting my girls see their chicks next week. 🙂

  5. @amber, Send them to me, ha ha. I love chickens for their funny personalities and eggs!! Fresh eggs are the best.
