Taking a little walk down memory lane as the Bigs turn 6 this Saturday.  My throat tightened a bit as I typed that, really 6!!   What a crazy adventure it has been, and I wouldn’t change a single thing.  Even the tantrums, broken leg, messes, because what brings it all that together is all the fun, love, and joy they are.

On my personal facebook I’ve been sharing a picture a day countdown until they are 6 and that has inspired me to do a post, just narrowing it down to 1 picture/post per year of life.  This is crazy hard and I’ve had so much fun looking back.

With that said, the very first and what started it all, the birth of the boys.  I shared my birth story and you can read about all the details here. (click on the photos to be taken to the stories)

One of my most favorite pictures was taken when the boys were about 4 months old and unhappy during the whole shoot.  I was so worried we wouldn’t get one good shot, and it turns out this photo is my absolute favorite, so pitifully cute!

One of our many camping trips, and camping remains one of our favorite things to do as a family.  Ha ha, DT probably won’t appreciate this picture so much!

and if you’ve been reading my blog or are a fan of my facebook for awhile, you may remember this story.  Still cringe worthy and I spent many hours scrubbing.

and one of the happiest days of their lives (as they say it) when the babies were born.  I’ll never forget, after the Bigs seeing and holding the babies, W looks at me and says, “Mom, our life was so boring before the babies came along.”  I am so happy to be able to give them the gift of brothers.

We are celebrating their birthday this year by going on a camping trip and they each invited 1 friend to spend the night, the weather is going to be cold and wet, but we are making the best of it and will still have a great time!

Happy 6th Birthday H and W, Mommy and Daddy love you more than words can express!

  1. The pictures of the big boys crying is too cute! But I would imagine when you were getting the pictures done you just wanted “a good” picture.
