We had a lovely 4th of July celebration at my great Aunt and Uncle’s deer camp.  Lots of great family, food and desserts.

Check out this festive cake!

When Aunt Dell rang the dinner bell you can bet everyone came running

Then the boys had to give er a ring as well!

We had a good time and enjoy seeing all of our family.

After we left the party I wanted to drive out to my dad’s rice fields. Remember this post about my dad’s rice farm, well check it out now!

This rice is big and beautiful!

My dad’s rice is doing great this year

Take a looky at what a difference a few months make

  1. Wow! Look at that wonderful spread of food! 😀 YUM!

Beautiful fields! I used to live in Japan and it was interesting to see when they planted with the water logged rice fields.

  2. What a fabulous, good ol’ fashioned Fourth of July you had! I love the bell ringing and the red, white and blue buffet. Can I come next year?

  3. Oh YuM!
And I had no clue rice was even grown in the US. And certainly didn’t realize that’s what the crop looks like. SO interesting!

  4. Yum! That food look awesome! Lots of great cooks in your family!
