We took our first camping trip with the babies to our favorite spot at the beach.  We had to pack practically the whole house for the babies, but it was so worth it.  We had a great time and the babies did amazingly well.

The big boys?  Well, that might be another story, that may or may not include them getting “lost” playing at another boy’s camper when he was supposed to be back to our camper at dark.  And when I asked him about it he swears he wasn’t lost and knew exactly where he was.

anywho

We spent some time at the beach and I found this great Beach Shade to keep the babies out of the sun while there.  It was pretty easy to put together and a really great size for both the babies and their  Rock ‘N Play’s.

They were such great babies on the beach and slept the whole time, except when it was time to eat.

I had my favorite beach chair and could feed the babies one at a time.

We had fun searching for driftwood (I have a few projects in mind) and seashells.

We did learn some interesting things on the beach this time.  We saw this “seaweed” all over the beach and thought it was strange.  I have been going to this beach all my life and have never seen this before.  We learned that it is not seaweed, but whelk shell egg casings. The tiny little shells are in each section of the casing. Pretty neat I think.  I love learning and finding new things on the beach.

And fished and cast the nets to catch bait.

On the river side, DT was cast netting for some bait when he caught a seahorse.

(sorry for the iphone picture with a finger) I didn’t get to see it but DT said it was about 6 inches long.  Everyone we talked to thought it was highly unusual to catch a seahorse close to the beach.  He carefully tossed the seahorse back into the water, but not before getting this picture.

We also found this unusual eel, called a snake eel, from what I can find searching the web about them.

We really did have a great time, fishing, walking, resting, relaxing (as much as possible with 4 boys) and am glad to know we can still go camping even with the babies.

  1. It’s been too long since my last visit! Look at those babies! Color me impressed with the camping trip… with two babies. Looks like the whole family is adjusting beautifully. 🙂

We have friends with two sets of twins, BOTH boy/girl. What are the chances?!
