It’s been a few weeks since I’ve done an update on my blog or any post on my blog.  No worries, I am doing well, just now emerging from the 1st trimester fog.

The past week or so I’ve been feeling much better, except for this nasty cold I have, but at least not quite as nauseous or having food aversions as before.

Last Monday I had a ultrasound and got to hear the babies heartbeats, both very strong, in the mid 170’s, and both measuring right on time.

Oh, and I have also lost about 10 lbs.  This pregnancy diet is no joke folks!  I am not showing yet, but feel a little tender on my belly so I generally have my pants unbuttoned or am doing the rubber band trick.

I’ve also rented a bellybeats at home baby doppler.  So each night I get to listen to the babies heartbeats, it’s so reassuring to hear those little heartbeats.  The boys love it too.

We celebrated the boys’ 5th birthday (pictures to come) this past weekend, and all that keeps going through my head is how lucky am I?  I get to do this all over again!

Twins are such an awesome experience.   Yes, it’s hard as hell those first few months or years, but as I lay down on the couch almost daily and ask the boys to play quietly as Mommy rests for a little bit and I hear them playing so nicely together, I know they have such a sweet bond and I love that.

I have to tell this funny story before I forget.  The boys were given homemade crochet blankets made by my Great Aunt Gladys before they were born.  When they got a little older they fell in love with their blankies, and have since named them Buffy (blue) and Tommy (green), oh, and they are also cats.  Yes, their imaginary blanket cats.  Hayden has Buffy and Wyatt has Tommy.  Well yesterday I heard soft crying coming from the boys room, from both of them.  I went in to ask what was wrong and they had made the heartbreaking decision to give each other their blankets.  Wyatt was holding Buffy and Hayden, Tommy.  I told them they didn’t have to do that, and to just give each others blanket back.  I couldn’t help but laugh, it was so silly and they both were crying real tears down their cheeks, little sweethearts.

I go to a Maternal Fetal Medicine scan this week.  From what I am told, it’s an extensive ultrasound with a high power machine, so I am hoping we can find out some more details about these twins.  Possibly, if they are fraternal or identical, and maybe even a guess on the sexes.  It’s a little early, but I’ve had some friends find out at 12 weeks.
