It seems like lately I have been on a homemade pizza kick.  The other night I decided after watching a pizza special on food network to attempt making homemade pizza dough, thin crust!

After searching many website’s looking for a suitable one I decided on my bread machine recipe.

Pour in 1 cup beer, 1 Tablespoon sugar, and 1 tablespoon oil

Then 1 tsp salt, 3 cups flour and 1 1/4 tsp yeast

insert into bread machine and select the dough/pasta setting, mine takes 2 hours.  It has to rise!

once the dough is ready take the ball and split in half, then roll into pizza shape I wanted a thinner crust so I rolled it to my desired thinness, be sure to grease the pizza pan.

Then add the sauce, garlic and cheese

Add the onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms- we made one veggie lovers and one meat lovers (sorry the meat lovers is not shown) just add meat instead of veggies.

Also brush olive oil on the outside edges of the crust!

Bake for about 10-15 minutes at 425

Here are the finished products!! The homemade crust was awesome, slighty crispy and chewy all together, I could also really taste the beer in a good way! I think I have found the perfect for me pizza dough recipe.  I think if don’t think you would like the beer flavor you could easily use a light beer or even water.

  1. Hey, thanks so much for stopping by my blog. Just FYI, maybe you didn’t know, but on blogger you can put your web address in with your name so people can click on your name and come here, rather to a profile you don’t use. It is just easier sometimes, rather than having to cut and paste your address into a new window. Maybe you already knew that and did it the way you did it on purpose, but I am a computer moron myself and I just BARELY figured out you could do that, so I’m just passing the good news along!

Anyway, what a great blog! Please tell me this pizza crust was chewy! That is the only thing I look for in a crust, I have been in search of a good one for years. I don’t like it bready, you know, they all turn out that way for me. If this one is a chewy masterpiece let me know. I love to make homemade pizza too!

  2. Thanks Natalie, I did not realize that! I just thought it automatically entered my info, good to know.

The crust I think had the right amount of crispy and chewy. Not too bready thats for sure. You should try this recipe and let me know how it turns out for you, another trick is to be sure to roll it flatter.

  3. I have been on a homemade ANYTHING kick. Hence the bread goal. Also I was just given an ice cream maker!

    So excited
