Monday morning DT was home I always love when he is home on a Monday, it usually means we will do something fun like go to the mall.  See going to the mall is not something I do on a regular basis, like hmm I think I haven’t been to the Mall since the boys were about 3 months old. I remember it well DT and I were each wearing a baby in our baby bjorns, walking around the mall browsing, casually talking and answering nice peoples questions if like are they twins, how old, boys or girls, etc.  When a nice lady mall janitor quickly pulled us aside and pointed down to DT’s babies leg (I believe it was Little W) and a lovely yellow poop stain ran all the way down his leg.  We quickly high tailed it out of there and straight to the car, DT was so embarrassed, I happened to think it was pretty funny and very typical of our little poopers.  So now the boys are 22 months old and let me tell you how much a mall can change in a short 19 months.  So enough about that let me get on to our Monday.

The boys woke up to chainsaws, that’s their kind of entertainment anything loud, and destructive!

We had 2 trees cut down one dead pine tree, and one junk tree.  This is our 3rd pine tree that we have lost due to the drought and pine beetles.  It makes me so mad, but there not much we can do.  Sad thing is the trees were probably 50 years old.

Shortly after the show we hopped into the tahoe and on our way to the mall.

Little H loves going for rides in the car and usually sings almost the whole way

he really gets into the song

While Little W is being shy

and wonders why Mommy is always snapping pictures

Little H keeps on singing, (never mind his grumpy bubba), he is really getting into it!

Little W wants nothing to do with the pictures or singing and even threatens to poke his eye out.

Later, as we are stopped at a light, DT notices this Giant (his words) on this small moped, so I quickly took a picture, and he the Giant quickly turned and noticed me taking his picture Eek, talk about awkward!

We had a great time at the mall and I spent way to much money (another reason I don’t go often)

I bought clothes or course and I did find some super cute Turkeys at Pottery Barn

And while we were in pottery barn the boys spotted these black birds, and DT wanted to get them some, so we got two black birds.  Yes two faux black birds with wire legs, perfect for attaching to lots of different surfaces.  I’ve actually had fun hiding them around the house while the boy’s search to find them.  Oh the things I do to entertain my fellas.

It was a super productive day, and we even partially planted some of the winter garden.  DT’s gardening buddy gave us some cucumbers and yellow squash (yes it’s really late to plant them, but they are free and an experiment to see if they will produce before our first freeze, possibly late November, remember this is south Texas).  So we planted them.  We have yet to plant our real winter garden, because of all the rain we’ve been getting and DT hasn’t been able to till or make rows, but we are crossing our fingers to plant this weekend.

The experimental cucumbers.

This is the small garden with the squash in rows, then to the top left is jalapenos (still producing).

All in all we had a great fun family day!

So what’s your favorite thing to do with the family?

  3. I love the pictures of your boys–especially the singing. I’m glad that the giant didn’t get off his moped and demand that you delete the picture 🙂

  4. The boys are sooo cute!
My tot likes to poke her eyes, too. I so don’t “get” that.

I’ve noticed a lot of people driving the mopeds here. I guess it to save on gas. How terribly awkward that he saw you take a pic of him. eek

I hope your garden does well.

  5. They are so adorable! My son used to love to look out the window at the “worker men” out their working. Now he’s 22 but your little guys sure brought back that memory! Thanks for joining in on show and tell!
