One perk of being a Stay at home mom (SAHM) is that we can go to the zoo and mall at the drop of a hat in the middle of the week.  So DT had off yesterday and on we went.  It’s been about a year since our last zoo trip and a few things have changed.

Meet the Bengal Tiger, the same exact one that scared the bejesus out of us last year, and guess what she did it again, even though we were expecting it.  But it turns out that she doesn’t like when people wear hats or anything that blocks there face, so thats why she hates DT because he is always wearing a hat.  So she sneakily jumped up on the plexy glass yet again, and roared so loud I just knew we were going to get kicked out for aggravating the tigers.  Though we did nothing but just standing there.

Then we saw my favorite exhibit the Baird’s Tapir

He was just laying down relaxing this year

but last year he put on a little show for us.

We saw some beautiful parrots that were busy chitter chatting with us.

and the boys loved feeding the ducks

and this has got to be the fattest alligator I’ve ever seen

After the zoo we went to DT’s all time favorite place, Sears.  I knew he had ulterior motives in mind, because he wanted to look at flat screen tv’s, and his birthday is just around the corner.

Well turns out he is one happy birthday boy, just take a look at his flat screen he got to take home.

So while we he was setting it up, I went to go sit across the room on our couch and when I twisted my leg to sit down, my knee popped so loud and I crumbled to the ground, I thought I had broken it.  Oh wow did it hurt, I immediately put ice on it and raised it.  I tossed and turned a lot last night trying to get comfy, but it does feel much better today.  My first full week on the job and I can’t be getting hurt, ugh.  Besides its not easy chasing after 2 21 months olds with a hurt knee!  Ouch!

  1. A few years ago a tapir killed a zookeeper at the OKC zoo. Evidentially they’re pretty mean, but then again any animal that looks like that has every right to be.

  2. So creepy about that tiger…ick, gave me chills! So glad you guys are having fun! I always pictured you as a stay at home mommy! You rock!

  3. Hope the knee is feeling better today! How weird!

So jealous! I’ve been wanting to get a membership to our zoo or season passes to Disney or Knott’s but since I work I just don’t think we’d have enough time to go. :sigh: Sounds like you are fully enjoying SAHMomness! =)
