Last weekend we had my cousin Kaylynn and her boyfriend Kyle over for a barbecue.  It was great getting together with them and almost immediately upon entering the house.  Something wonderful happened.

Kyle was greeted by our furry babies Chloe and Cricket.  He had no choice in the matter and was immediately smitten by Crickets charms.  He was hers.  In fact he’s called every day since just asking how she’s doing.  See cricket has that power over the men in our family.

While the puppy love was happening, Kay and I moved on to more important matters, making Sangria (recipe to come)

And I so enjoyed having a beautiful hand model, to do such important tasks like pouring a shot! (seriously that’s not easy to do by yourself all the whilst trying to take a picture with the perfect timing)  She has volunteered to be my permanent hand model and promises to except payments of hugs and kisses from the boys!

Don’t worry she cashed in plenty!

The boys loved having them down and so enjoyed Kay reading to them

The Hamburger’s, Sangria, and Rocky Road Ice Cream went off without a hitch and we were thoroughly plumped.

The next morning Kay reminded me of the ever so fun game of being pulled around on a blanket, the boys will forever be grateful!

Later the same day we went to my grandparents, where Kay’s Little bro AB (my favorite baby cousin) presented my grandparents with an plaque of appreciation for supporting him in his eagle scout project

The boys had to get in a picture with the Eagle Scout.  Way to go Ash!

As did the guys!!  We were all proud of him!

Sorry Uncle B no page time!  I didn’t get one picture of you!!

We had a great weekend and can’t wait to do it again!

  1. The blanket pull was Kay and AB’s favorite game. Even cousin Mal loved coming over and having Uncle B pull her around. Just watch going around those corners, that’s when a little head can get bumped. Those are great pictures of AB, I’ll have to show him. I have never had Kay’s sangria and where was my taste of Rocky Rock???
Hope you enjoy your first day at home!

  2. Awww, I LOVE the pics and we had so much fun!! I especially love little H waving at the camera during his blanket ride…priceless! Hopefully, we can come back soon since I already miss the boys and Kyle already misses Cricket 😉

  3. My cousins are my best friends, so I’m always happy to see when others have equally great relationships with their cousins. Very nice! It looks like your boys really enjoy family time. I had forgotten all about the blanket trick. What fun!

  4. Hi! I got your comment on my blog about the “meet the newlyweds” interview and I’m interested! Let me know what the next step is and I’ll get on it.

Love your blog, by the way – going to add it to my reading list!

  5. Now that we have wood floors, the kids love for me to pull them around on huge blankets! That’s how I get my workout these days!

Looks like you all had fun! What a wonderful happy family you have! I’m not sure why I’m just now noticing this but your sons have your husband’s smile!!!
