Summer is no excuse to jump off the menu planning bandwagon, I am still planning our meals, even if they don’t work out exactly as planned (busy summer) it’s still a major time saver to have meals ready to be prepared.

We had a wonderful family vacation we celebrated father’s day and birthdays and ate, ate and ate some more.  The kids played on the best summer investment ever a inflatable water slide.

This is my birthday week (officially 36 on the 22nd), so I am hoping to enjoy a special bottle of wine and also get a “fancy” dinner out or maybe a small out of town trip with DT.
Last week we enjoyed:

Here’s what caught my eye this week and what I’m reading.
  • Totally trying this bacon-fried cabbage recipe – but my mom’s version is pretty hard to beat.
  • These edible unicorns are beyond adorable by Lauren Conrad
  • I got a Stitch Fix last week and am really loving my shorts and new tops, have you stitched fixed yet?
  • Hayden my 10 year old is loving Chips Gaines on audibleCapital Gaines” and unexpected read for the summer, very inspirational.  I also loved their book The Magnolia story.
  • Wyatt is working on his Rabbit key chains (yes seriously) this week and will be doing a blog (his very first) all about it.

What are you eating, reading or working on this week? Please share.
