I started both the Advocare Cleanse and Extreme Shed and Shred workout video level 1 on Monday, and, as of yesterday, Thursday my normal weigh in day, I was down 3 lbs. So three pounds in 4 days, woo hoo, that is exciting. Especially since I’ve been stuck at 1 lb weekly weight loss for what seems like forever. Yes, I am happy for those 1 lbs, but I’d like to see it moving a little quicker, too. I am eating really well on this cleanse, and so far it’s been very simple. No bad cravings or feelings of being hungry, in fact I feel full, satsified.
I am also adding in the catalyst pills. Advocare recommends the catalyst with the cleanse, but it is optional. It is basically an amino acid that aids in muscle repair while losing weight, so in other words it helps you to not lose muscles when losing weight, just fat! It also helps reduce the feeling of soreness after a workout. Now I don’t have a comparison since this is my first time to do the extreme shred and shred workouts, but I can say, I haven’t been very sore at all, when I thought I would be. It could be the catalyst.
I have also given up coffee as part of the cleanse. Now this is big folks, giving up my coffee, my morning savior, my life line, my love, my warmth. Ok, so I love my coffee. Luckily I didn’t have any caffeine withdrawals because I am drinking spark in replacement of the coffee. Spark is a energy drink, that contains caffeine and vitamins. I love spark, it tastes so good. I usually have a spark after lunch anyways, it’s such a great drink and energy booster. So the switch as been easy, but once the cleanse is over I am sure I will go back to my warm coffee, I miss my warm coffee mugs in the mornings. As far as the fiber drink, I mixed it with half a scoop of spark and voila it was so easy to drink like that and tastes good too. Just drink it fast!
The extreme shed and shred videos sound scary I am not going to lie, but really they are fun, and so very different than her 3o day shred and ripped in 30 videos, that I love. These are a mix of styles like kickboxing, yoga, and jujitsu. It keeps you moving fast and is really a great burn for a 30 minute workout. I am loving level 1. Next week I will do level 2, and then on week 3 I will do both level 1 and 2 back to back, I am a little scared about that one.
Have you every tried a cleanse? If not what’s stopping you?
