On Mother’s Day I made these yummy treats to take to our families’ potluck dinner. They are so good and the perfect travel food, not to mention a snap to make. Really, the hardest part is waiting for them to cool. Oh, the wait is torturous.
They are called Magic Bars, because you turn around and they magically disappear! Everyone loves them.
It can be our little secret at how easy they are to make, okay?
Ingredients: 1 cup sweetened flaked coconut; 1 stick butter, melted; 10 graham crackers, crushed; 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts; 1 cup chocolate chips; 1-15 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
To start, crush your graham crackers. I simply used a zip lock bag and mallet.
In your 9 X 13 pan, pour in melted butter. I simply melted the stick of butter for about 40 seconds in the microwave.
Then evenly spread the crumbs.
Press them down with the back of the measuring cup, try to make the crust even.
Then sprinkle on the nuts,
and shredded coconut.
Then evenly pour on the sweetened condensed milk.
Seriously that simple!
Bake at 350° for 25 minutes or so, until the tops are golden brown. Let cool about 1 hour before serving.
They are also really yummy with a glass of cold milk. Mmmm…
These bars also go by many different names? Have you tried them? If so, what do you call them?Print This Recipe
