Rain, Rain, Come Our Way!

August 24, 2011

It rained here in southeast Texas, first time in forever, or, as I heard on the news, Texas is in the worst recorded drought ever!  Ever folks, and it rained a lot, for a good hour.  Needless to say we are a bit thrilled.

Rain now is almost as fun as snow in Texas and almost just as scarce.

So, as I am in the kitchen cleaning up I wonder where did Little W go.

I sneak outside and see this.

Hey, what are ya doing?  “Playing”, he said.  How could I argue with that face.

So I try to encourage little H to come out and play.  But he said it was cold……cold, really, it’s only 110 degrees outside, but cold.

So I gently threw nudged him in the rain and he wasn’t very happy with me.

His fit is making me laugh because just remember these little boys?

Meanwhile, Little W is having a blast just running.

And getting as muddy as possible.

So I tell Little H if he goes and plays in the rain he can have a warm bath afterward.

It worked, he slowly walked into the rain.

Figured it wasn’t so bad,

And took off running.

I’ll let the pictures do the talking.

Just look at those long legs!!  What happened to my babies??

We are so very thankful for the rain!

We got that same rain, too, where we live in east Texas. I didn’t know whether to cry or laugh for joy! Your little ones knew just how to express what they were feeling. We need more rain because there is just no way to describe the devastation this drought is causing to humans, animals, and vegetation. But for today, we are so thankful for the beautiful rain we received yesterday.

That was pretty much just as cute as can be. You’re going to treasure that photo series in years to come. :)

Your boys are growing up–they are getting so tall and thin, definitely not babies anymore. But still as precious as ever! Have a great week!
