Spring is in the Air

February 25, 2011

At least here, as we’ve been hatching a lot of chicks on the “farm”.  Just about every week a new set is hatching.

The boys really love watching the chicks hatch.

See the egg is fully zipped around the shell and just about to pop out!

Little W eagerly awaiting the chick to hatch.

Little H super excited as he sees the little yellow chick emerge from the shell.  I’ll admit it never gets old.

Just this week we hatched 20 chicks.

They are so dang cute.  Unfortunately for me all these chicks are sold.

I really wanted to keep a few.

But DT just might kill me if I try to keep them all.

*ps: if you ever find yourself in need of some hatching eggs or chicks, please ask me*

I was watching “Animal Hoarders” the other day and they had a man on there who had 132 chickens IN HIS HOUSE. DT is probably just afraid that you’re going to be that guy. :)

@Mindee@ourfrontdoor, Ok please don’t compare me to that guy, at least my 132 chickens are only in my sunroom!!!!!! Baaa Hahhhahahah.

You made my morning sunny (it’s snowing outside again) and gave me a big laugh besides! I could totally see myself doing this and I can only imagine my sweetie’s reaction!

The only thing cuter than your chicks are those two little boys, btw.

I got married in December and started a newlywed blog of my own. I just started to look up other newlywed blogs and am glad I found yours! Someday we’ll be established newlyweds like you! (but hopefully not with twins our first go-round – I don’t think I’m good enough to handle two at once…) :) Thanks for sharing!

How adorable! I hope my little chickies are busy growing in their shells, if I could incubate them I’d probably talk to the eggs every day too. :-) I have a brooder and the coop all ready for the babies …
