Pumpkin Spice Latte

October 26, 2010

It’s pumpkin time here at Newlyweds blog and I had to try this yummy recipe I’ve seen floating around the Internets.  And since my closest Starbucks is at least 45 minute drive away, I figure, what the hey, I’ll make it at home.  So glad I did, because not only was it a pick me up in the middle of the day, it was super good.  My Mom even liked it and she’s not what I would call a pumpkin fanatic like some people I know, ahem.

Be sure to stop by my Pumpkin link-up for tons of pumpkin related posts, and link up!

Let me show you just how simple this is.

Ingredients: 2 cups milk, 3 T canned pumpkin, 2 T sugar, 2 tsp vanilla extract, 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice, 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee or espresso

In a medium sized sauce pan over medium heat, pour in the milk

pumpkin

and sugar

stir until incorporated.

and heat until the milk is steaming.

Them remove from the heat, and add the pumpkin pie spice,

and vanilla.

Whisk really good, until frothy.

Then pour about half way into a large mug.

and top with strong coffee.

Add some whipped cream on top, and enjoy!

I stumbled across your blog but I do not know how! I am a grandma but when I saw you have twins it peaked my interest. I have identical twin brothers who will soon be 54! I am your newest follower.

This looks interesting…I would never have thought about adding the pumpkin to a latte. I am going to need to buy another can of Libby’s pumpkin now!

Best wishes,
Natasha.

I couldnt sleep and I was craving sugar and coffee (after I had been looking around for random recipes) So I found this…when I lived in Texas my Mamau used to make yummy little drinks like this so I had to try it. It was really good! I even made a cup for my mom and had her try it. Given I woke her up the compliments were given in a quiet, slightly slurred mumble but I understand the mmm’s and such… Anyways. Thanks (:
