Espresso Martini

April 28, 2010

This weeks Food Network chef’s Challenge hosted by I Blame My Mother is Sandra Lee.  She hosts the show Semi Homemade and always has a wonderful take on delicious foods.

I choose a simpler recipe this week and was looking for a good cocktail.  A girls gotta have a drink every now and again.  And to me why not combine two of my favorite vices, coffee and martini’s.

They are just as strong and delicious as you can imagine.  One is all it takes to make your stresses of the day just drift away.

Not that you really need step by step instructions to make a drink, but I’ll show them to you anyhow.

Ingredients: 1 1/2 shots vodka, 1 shot coffee liqueur, 1 shot coffee, cooled to room temperature, 1 teaspoon instant coffee granules, ice cubes

In a shake, pour 1 shot of brewed cooled coffee

then 1 shot Kahlua

1 and 1/2 shots vodka, don’t skimp and buy the cheap stuff, really good vodka is key to a drink like this.

then 1 tsp instant coffee granules.  Add Ice and shake well.

Then pour into your martini glasses.

add a dollop of whipped cream, and relax!

That’s easier than I thought it would be! Don’t you love her cocktail? I wish she’d come out with a book solely with her cocktail recipes! :)
