Menu Plan Monday

January 31, 2010

*Be Sure to Stop by the Xagave Giveaway and enter to win!*

62 weeks now I have been menu planning, it has become such a natural part of my week, I can’t imagine going back to not knowing what I am going to cook each week.  Each Saturday or Sunday morning I spend about 30 minutes (maybe not this long) preparing my menu for the week, deciding on what new recipes I am going to try and what family favorites we will eat.

Then I create my grocery list for the week and I am done, that’s it.  No more worrying what I am going to fix or if we have the ingredients to make it.  It’s simple and done.  Of course my menu plan is flexible and I can simply push back recipes if we didn’t make them that week or something came up.  I also like to make a few large dinners that we can eat more than once or for leftovers for lunch the next day.  I just love leftovers.

I have a few new changes coming to my blog over the next month I am going to start hosting more sponsored giveaways.  This means I was given a product to try and then blog about and offer a product to giveaway on my blog, so please be sure to stop by starting tomorrow and enter in the giveaway.

Last week we had:

Seared Tuna with Mango Salsa

Orange Cranberry Muffins (Sugar and Gluten Free)

This week we have planned:

Breakfasts:

Eggs and toast
Fresh fruit and oatmeal
Fruit Smoothies

Dinners:

Smothered Chicken and Rice

Photobucket

Barbecue Ribs and sweet potato fries (recipe to come)

Pork Chops with squash and salad

Chicken Corn Chowder (recipe to come)

Desserts,  Snacks and Drinks:
