The other night around 10:30 at night DT was working on his truck outside and I was peacefully enjoying a glass of wine and catching up on some good TV. When DT runs into the house screaming, Come see this!! Then I heard skeeter barking and immediately thought he found a possum for something.
Turns out he spotted this huge Bug, at our back door.
Then he said run in and take a picture, but as you can tell I was not getting near this thing.
Just look at its front pinchers, all I could imagine was it flying on me and grabbing hold. I would literally have a heart attack right there, I don’t like bugs.
Much less bugs that are about 2-3 inches long. EEK!
So after some searching on the internets, I discovered this is a Giant Water Bug, aka Toe Biter, double eek!
They live in water! So what the hell was it doing on my back porch? But DT and I being the softies we are decided that such an unusual creature should live, so he dropped him off in a neighboring pasture. Hopefully he will make his way to some water.
So tell me Have you ever seen a bug like this?
