Painting Revealed

September 4, 2009

I posted this picture on Wednesday without so much as one word explanation, a true wordless Wednesday post. I was a bit proud of myself actually.  But now I decided I must explain, the chaos behind this “innocent” picture.

Being the truly thoughtful, loving, and downright genius mom that I am, I decided for DT’s birthday, the boys would each paint Da-gee (toddlerese for Daddy) a card with a hand drawn (yes I am the artist) picture of a truck.

It was going well at first the boys were just using the tips of their fingers in the paint, pressing ever so slightly.

But then they decided, to see what each color would taste like

Notice Little H is not wearing lipstick, just a shade of red face paint (don’t worry its non toxic)

Little H’s Masterpiece

Little W’s Masterpiece

They manage to get paint all over themselves, obviously, but as well as their high chairs, and like I said being the genuis Mom that I am I let them have black and blue paint…………….

Which happens to stain, plastic!  I guess lesson learned.  But the little guys sure did have a good time.

And I think Da-gee will love his homemade birthday cards!

PS: I am hoping to have a gardening posts up next week!

Don’t know how I missed your wordless Wednesday post. Too cute, I’m sure DT will love the birthday cards.

I always stripped mine down to diapers for finger painting. You must be better at laundry than I am!

What a fun project. To bad about the staining thing though. My post is actually similar to yours.

This is an awesome post! I framed my kids first finger paintings and they still hang on our wall some 16 years later.
