I am not posting weekly garden pictures this week, because we’ve had some rather exciting new that I had to share, so this post will be a discombobulation of our weekly happenings.
Oh also remember I warned you on my picture obsession? This post will not disappoint.
We’ve had a rather fruitful week yet again, as you can see by the Fruits of our labors, don’t you just love that.
Another table full of tomatoes, squash, peppers, purple hull peas and okra.
But one of the more exciting fruit of our labors is our grape vines!!
At least half a table full, I have since frozen most of them with hopes to make a green grape pie, and grape jelly.
Does anyone have any other suggestions for how to use these grapes. They are very tart and have seeds so eating them straight is out of the question.
As if we needed more pets in our household I decided to get a partner for Sonny our parakeet, since Cher died a few months back
So we went to the pet store and found this little one, we have yet to name her/him but I am thinking maybe blue bird. They are already best friends, chirping and pruning each other.
And the most exciting new is Little W is walking!!! On his cast. It has been 2 weeks since he had his accident and I wasn’t sure if he would walk on it at all. I have been working with him trying to get him to take a few steps and he would but only if I were holding his hands, none of his own.
In fact it was almost like he forgot that he couldn’t walk and just took a step and another and another.
It all happened so fast that I could barely get my camera, and just look at that mess everywhere, ugh. I was so excited you would have thought it was his first steps ever, in fact I literally screamed and clapped and jumped up and down. Yea my baby is walking!!! again.
Hi Mom, did you see? I’m walking!

and kindly threw him the ball to kick with his casted leg.

And to celebrate we had a nekid baby run
I could hardly get a picture Little H was so fast and excited to be running free as a nekid jay bird.

it must be a mommy thing but I think they have the sweetest little nekid dimpled hiney’s ever!!

Oh my I am really impressed with the bounty of your garden. I had seen some of your earlier S&T when the garden was starting. Great job!!!!

Awe I love the pictures of the boys streaking! I miss the days when mine did that. So glad your little one has figured out how to walk with the cast. Freedom!
Your garden produce is fabulous.
We use to raise parakeets. Now we just have one. I have been trying to talk my dd into getting another. I just love the antics and noise they make. Yours are beautiful!!!!!

You are so funny! Rumpled little baby butts remind me of old man butts–not that I have even seen old man butt (nor do I want to), but you know how it is. Your fruts & veggies are so colorful and delish looking
Anyway, I was mainly going to comment about your birds. Your green bird looks like my old parakeet Oscar and your blue bird looks like my cousin’s bird, Trixie. They have been reincarnated!

Oh, how great that he’s walking on that cast! So cute. And your haul from your garden? Amazing! I’m not sure but I THINK my beans may be ready. My carrot tops are about 7 inches and I have no clue how to tell when they’re ready. Ughhh. lol.
But you could seriously feed your family for awhile on all that! And grapes? You lucky dog.

Wow what a haul your garden in producing!
Love the baby shots. When our twins were little, they sat on the little time-out bench nekked and it was such a cute shot that I couldn’t resist. I think it must be a momma thing.

Wow! What a beautiful bounty. We live in Canada and so it will be a little while yet until we are enjoying the fresh harvest. I planted Okra this year for the first time and I’m not sure how it will turn out because our climate probably isn’t ideal for it. I am wondering though, if it does work out, can you share some tips for preparing it with me? I have only eaten it a few times and so I am not really sure what to do with it.

I believe you tell the sex of Parakeets by their beak color. Maybe you could make grape juice. Wow, I’d love to have some of those tomatoes. We picked our first ripe one last night. Lovely boys!
