Bye Bye Bathroom

January 9, 2009

Can you believe I didn’t take pictures of the garden this week, a sin right.  Well I have good reason, I dropped my camera and it broke the lens.  But don’t worry it was a cheapy Kodak and I have been wanting to get a new one, sooooo.  For now I am borrowing my Mom’s camera and it’s much nicer than mine.   A for my Friday Story telling posts I thought I would share about our lovely leak in the attic.

We had a leak in the attic over the holidays which created mold and mildew and are now going to have to gut our only bathroom and the boys bedroom and move into my parents house during the repairs. Sounds like a lot of work right???  Why am I not looking forward to this??  Why can’t I get excited about remodeling my bathroom??? WHY, WHY!! Maybe its because I just want to curl up in my bed and sleep through it all.

But good thing is we are going to remodel the bathroom and get rid of the old tile that is pink with gold flakes, yippee!

Any suggestions anyone for added space to a tight small little bathroom like this???

Wanna see what were dealing with.  Hold on to your cheerios ladies and gents (Are there any Gents reading? Leave a comment, I just might not believe you though), its gonna get ugly and fast!

This the mold in the boys closet

And the floor of the closet after we ripped out the carpet and padding because it was all wet

Here is our bathroom- don’t mind the clutter!

And our Beautiful Pink with gold flakes Tile (can you sense the sarcasm?)

And above the tile our lovely MOLD!

wow! Mold is definitely a scary thing. Just think you will have a great new bathroom when it’s done! The fun part is picking out the new fixtures that you want!!

That mold must go; it’s dangerous, especially for the baby. Let us see the finished product, please.

I’m sorry your forced to remodel. I hate being forced-I like to ‘decide’ to do it:)

Please post follow up pictures! I can’t wait to see what you ‘decide’ to do:)

I’m glad that your getting it all fixed up. But it was hard to concentrate on the bathroom when you started showing pictures of your precious baby.

Looks like time for remodel and good timing for sure. Mold has to go. Looking forward to seeing photos of the ‘redo’!

Yuk –the mold is bad, and unplanned remodeling is not fun.
But the end result will be well worth it. Just don’t be overwhelmed and take it one step at a time.

And yay for getting rid of that pink tile. When we moved to our home, we had one bathroom with pink tile, pink toilet, and
pink sink. It was not great, but not as bad as the other bathroom which had a lilac toilet, sink, and bathtub. It was kinda nauseating. So I can sympathize.

Have a great day!
