Chocolate Mug Cake

September 18, 2008

I just tried the easiest Chocolate cake ever.  Made in the microwave in less than 5 minutes, how cool is that.  And it is sooooo good.  This could be dangerous!  I have already made it two days in a row.  First day I used toffee bits, it was good, but a little dry, but then the second day I used cut up pieces of Hershey’s Bliss and OMG it was so much better, with little chocolate treasures in every bite mmmm.

Ingredients: 4 T flour, 4 T sugar, 2 T baking cocoa, 1 egg, 3 T milk, 3 T oil, 3 T toffee bits, splash of vanilla and 1 large coffee cup.

add a splash of vanilla

Then add toffee bits or chocolate chips mix (I didn’t have any that’s why I used toffee bits)

Photobucket

Microwave for 2 1/2 – 3 minutes

It will rise above the top of the mug while cooking. Let sit for a minute or so.

Tip it out on a plate, and serve with ice cream, delish!

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons baking cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips
a small splash of vanilla essence
1 coffee mug
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well
Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla essence, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The
cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don’t be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).
And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we
are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or
night!

Ooh, I like it! I’ve done this recipe with a cake mix before but would much rather do it from scratch like you’ve done. Thanks for sharing!

OK…I just made this and I would say it was more of a bread pudding consistency rather than cake. The 3T of oil seemed like quite a bit.
